But I think I have the closest to screen accurate Briefcase full of Blues here. Maybe. I just stripped the old "quick last minute" paint job from a year or two ago, and sanded it down, prepared for a proper coat. Sorry I don't have a more decent camera! The only two differences I see are these, But even the stitching and lock are the same! Do we have a thread on briefcase brands/models? My new title after I screw this one up. Master of "Eye-balled it!"; King and Lord of "Oops."

Do we have a thread on briefcase brands/models? I think this is now it. That's a nice case you have, but I think TK826 found the dead nuts. I even tried to trade him a 1974 14o speedo and a Craig S601 for it, but I just couldn't swing the deal. Reference pics: On the lock: TK's briefcase: all pics above from TK's thread on BBC: www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/7454-elwoods-briefcase-the-final-thread/Here's a pic from the movie:

Here are three pictures from a briefcase I've been using for the last few years; I bought it for $5.00 at a garage sale a few years back and, after touching up the slightly worn areas, its served me excellently in every capacity from briefcase to overnight bag. I had no idea it was so close to the one in the movie, except for the curved corner stitching and clasp until now. I actually lost it for a while and tried to buy one on eBay a while back, but the seller's dog tore it up and I wound up searching harder for this one.

The bag looks pretty close. I notice the side hinge is different. TK noted that was an area to look for:

That one's the same as mine. I don't think I payed more than $30 for it, shipping included.

Ok, I think I understand now. You have this briefcase: which is the same make/model as this briefcase: which is a pretty good match for Elwood's briefcase: for which we think TK826 found a perfect match here:

I didn't show it in the pictures, but mine also has the same brass guide on it as Elwood's does. If I changed the lock, then the only difference between his and mine would be the curved vs straight corner stitching.
I searched everywhere on mine and I couldn't find a brand or model number or a manufacturer, though.
