Thanks Country, I was waiting to hear what you have been running in your car. Hopefully my recent discussions are helpfull with your build. I am tempted to just run the stock system, it sounds like it should work just fine but its is hard to ignore the temptation to try and improve on 40 year old technology. I am not building a strip car or even a serious street car but never the less I don't like the idea of ignoring low hanging fruit. To add something to the mix, check out this distributor from 440 source store.440source.com/Street-Distributor-RB-Ready-to-Run-New/productinfo/117%2D1002/Less than $100, seems too good to be true. At that price I could buy 2 and not spend much more than I would redoing my stock system.

Wow, $75. That does seem like a winner:

Whatever.you do, do not go with 440source.. Ive heard way to many horror stories about them. All they do is take a already made product (like edelbrock heads/msd ignition), send it to china, and say make this for cheaper...
On top of that, their customer service is terrible once you buy a product.
Theres a lot of mixed reviews on em.... But just as you said "too good to be true". Also "you get what you pay for".

I agree. I have read a lot of stories but can honestly say I have not read many first hand experiences. I guess I don't have a problem with knock off parts as long as they are marketed and priced accordingly. But either way, I don't think I am interested. I don't know why but I am intrigued by the HEI conversion, but I cannot find definitive info that proves it is superior to the stock system.
