That 140 certified speedo indicates police package to me, what's the VIN on this car and do you have the trim tag?

This is not the same car that I have on ebay. I went searching around some of my old sources today and found few Monacos. This one is a police package for sure. 440 car even. The original engine and trans is hanging inside a dry building. Guy says he has the title just has to find it. I was going to part this out but the dang car appears to be solid. Also the guy told me that that is the original miles. Needs a windshield, hood, and core support. I have all the stuff to fix it listed on ebay. I am contemplating it but these friggin cars are wayy back in the woods. It would take an act of congress to get it out. I swear I don't know how they put them there in the first place. Its all you can do to walk back there. I will keep you guys posted on on whats goin on. Parted out or complete they all will be sold.

Parted out or complete they all will be sold. OK, if you do part them (or any others) I need a pair of '75 front seat belts in black, the outers only, not the short ends. Adam

Well, so far nobody has offered me so much as $7 in change for any or all of this stuff on ebay. That doesn't make me want to get ate up with tics, and sweat blood to drag any more of these cars out of the woods. Not that I am in it for the money but I aint in it for my health either. I figure the value of an item is what it will bring on the market. Going by that thinking, this stuff is worth about $8 per 100 lbs if it is made of steel. The plastic (like taillights) you have to pay to get rid of. Although I have been known to wait untill the deepest hours of darkness and set fire to it. Note: if you do this,DO NOT get drunk and roast wienies on this type of fire.

I'd give you $50.00 for the 140 speedometer assembly; I want one for my collection.

That speedo is in a very solid car those are the correct miles. That one doesnt belong to me.It could have, real cheap yesterday but i just couldn't rip the guy off. I filled him in that the car was worth more than what he was selling it to me for,IMO but now IDK. Tell me, just how much could a person expect to get out of a solid 75 Monaco original police 440 ? Give me the high and the low end.

It all depends on the condition; what may appear to be solid may be rusted underneath. I'd say that low-end, the car is worth $500.00 and high-end is around $3,500.00. The big difference being if you can get the car to run and it's solid in frame, body, floors, supports, etc.

The big difference being if you can get the car to run and it's solid in frame, body, floors, supports, etc. Thanks for your input. I have to agree 100% Like you say,its hard to tell untill you really get into one what kind of shape it's in. From what I could tell the car has potential. I couldn't see any indication of the usual rust on it but there is a truck sitting inches away from the drivers side. And the front of it is totally inacessable. I believe that the speedo should stay with that car and the car should be brought out of its current resting place and inspected. I could have bought the car yesterday but I let the owner know that he might be able to get a lot more out of it than he thinks. How I hope this will play out is that he will bring the car down from the mountain(have I metioned how hard it is to get to?) clean it up, call me, I will go and make a honest assement of the car, take pics, post them on here and hopefully someone will get a car that they really want for an reasonable price. Also this guy will make a few bucks and the car will not not go waste. Heck, he forgot he even had it. He's no fool by any means, hes a Mopar guy all the way. He is into A,B,E-bodys. I mean he has had Superbirds, cudas, ect. He took the engine out of the car and saved it because it had low miles. But..he doesn't think to highly of it because its "just a cast crank 440". As for me, why, I'll just ride off into the sunset and you all can say "who was that goofy bastard?" LOL

If the car is clean I'd say $5K plus, running and driving of course, up to $20K in perfect shape.

Is this to say I can buy a high end factory police Monaco for $3500? In project form, that would be a fair price. I've seen solid Monacos sell for about that on this site alone. Most examples are '74s; more sought-after with those looking to restore a car. This car, for example, was listed for $3,500.00 bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=cops&action=display&thread=1360This Ex-CHP car sold for $7,101.00 bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=cops&action=display&thread=1359&page=1Here's a '75 that sold for $3,500.00 www.bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cops&thread=520&page=1#1427After that, you get into the prices of restored, running and driving cars. From there you can expect a good car to sell for around $15,000.00 to nearly $25,000.00 From your description, I priced the car in the realm of the $500 to $3,500 project car area. The reason that I say that this is the price is because if it's been sitting out so long that he forgot about it in the woods, there's bound to be some deterioration as a result. The motor will, at least, need a refresh if not a rebuild, (carb rebuild, fluid flush, etc.) then there's every bit of rubber, (hoses, etc.) the brakes will need to be redone, the fuel tank and lines will either need to be cleaned out; best case scenario, or replaced; as well as the tank. That rodents did some damage to the car is also not an unreasonable assumption, if not, there will still be some degradation to the electrical components from prolonged sitting. These are all things that I take into consideration when I price out a car that I'm considering purchasing and hear that it hasn't ran in years and 99% of the time, you have all of these problems.

Yes LV, I think you pricing is right. I can't wait to see what condition this thing is really in. I had my hopes up but you have brought my head down out of the clouds. I'm so dumb, I was sitting in the damn car with the keys in the ignition... I didnt even think to get them out and pop the trunk!! That would have revealed a big portion of the picture wouldn't it? Heck, I got one better than that..I just thought of poping the trunk about 5 min. ago! Yeesh! I am starting to want another Bluesmobile since I been look around on this site. The one I had before was a joke beside the ones I have seen on here. I thought about starting to piece one together but I would want a nice one if I get another. I believe a person would save money in the long run to pay 10-15k for one like Huey had rather than deal with all the stuff that you mentioned. I was thinking on this 75 police that I could get the engine from him and clean it up,put it back in and go cruising.Who as I kidding? I don't know about you but I can't seem to do just a "refresh" or "budget build" on a engine. The last "clean up/refresh" I did to turned into bored out, hyperutectic pistons, aluminum intake and heads, cam, headers, new street dominator holley, and from there I upgraded every nut, bolt, and part that had to do with the drivetrain! And that is on a 318 in a truck that looks worse than the Monaco I have on ebay! That sumbitch will run now tho! LOL
