If I understand correctly, the poster is flickr user "Craig Michaud", and he posted the title: > The Blue Brothers Bluesmobile in Nashua, NH at the Dan Aykroyd > wine tasting secure.flickr.com/photos/thebudman623/3308026580/in/photostream/with several pics: and then flickr user PigPen333 writes: > it is a replica that Ackroyd owns because there is only one car > remaining from the movie and it is owned by a retired cop who > lives in Florida and refuses to sell it.... the lucky fella bought it > from a Universal studios prop sale for next to nothing back before > the film achieved cult status......forget about the lottery...buy a > Blumo..!! but it is still cool that you sat in Elwoods car.... secure.flickr.com/photos/thebudman623/3308026456/in/photostream/The "one car remaining from the movie", I think is in reference to Jim Posts eyehook blumo: www.bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=rumors&action=display&thread=1074But what about this reference to Dan Aykroyd owning this replica? Surely this is a fan replica. It'd be super weird to autograph one's own replica. And what's up with the "wise up" quote from Jake? With John Belushi autograph? Presumably written by Judy Belushi?

- It's a 1977 Gran Fury owned by a fan and BBC member. It was on craigslist last December ... bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=cars&action=display&thread=1134PigPen is Bill Boyd who built the Blu-mo's for BB2000. I believe the reference to the one car remaining from the movie is once again referring to one of the models. Which would explain why it was bought at a prop sale. Bill Boyd is a really nice guy but had nothing to do with the original movie, he's just repeating a rumour he heard. So it's either a reference to the Jim Post car, or more likely one of the models.

The Fury seems to have a bit more flare to the wheel openings. That's what got my attention. The above pic clearly shows that contour line above the door handles on the Monaco. The Fury ain't got 'em.

The contour line on the Fury gets in the way of accurately placing the "TO SERVE AND PROTECT." Most I've seen pictures of (including this car) have it above the line, but I think it would look better below it.

When Dan was signing autographs in Oak Brook, IL...must have been in 2015...I asked him if he kept a Bluesmobile from the movie. He said "No, I never had a Bluesmobile, but I did have an Illinois State Police Royal Monaco (#55) for a few years." He yelled over to his friend and said..."Hey xxxxx, do you remember when we drove around in that ISP." The guy said "Yeah, you drove it all over Manhattan."

Dan technically owned several Bluesmobile clones, the Rick Shields fleet of HOB cars, he was a partner in the House of Blues franchise which owned the cars.

- Dan mentions it here ... - abcnews.go.com/Entertainment/blues-brothers-35th-anniversary-dan-aykroyd-shares-memories/story?id=32029344----- So ... who remembers Betty Buckley? Lol, I do. She was the mom on "Eight is Enough" which ran from 1977 to 1981. As for what happened to that car ... we had a discussion going one time because a car claiming to be a survivor from the movie came to our attention many years ago. It was supposedly a movie car, one of the cop cars, and apparently was owned by Dan before he gave it to his brother-in-law, Donna's brother. From what I can remember we were not impressed. Story had holes, car didn't seem right. Anyone else remember that? Something weird about the paint as well, I believe we ended up just not believing that car was a movie car. I can't say for sure if the car Dan kept was the same car that showed up in the forums at that time, back in the Blues Central days, but we didn't give it too much extra thought after that time.
