I think that's a good one. Here's the summit page for the walker sound fx muffler for a 74 monaco: www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-18230/media/images/year/1974/make/dodge/model/monacoand here's the quiet flow you found: www.summitracing.com/parts/wlk-21276/media/imagesand they both list > 2 1/4 in. Inlet/2 1/4 in. Outlet and they both look like they have the inlet and outlets in the same place. The Soundfx is $30. The quiet flow is $66. Here's a page that has some info and shows how the mufflers differ from each other (quiet flow has an extra tube, and is their "premium" muffler) www.rockauto.com/info/Walker/Detail.html?128-673.jpg> soundfx and quiet flow sound pretty much the same.... stock > sound level. > quietflow is stainless in many cases and is an exact copy of the > baffling used by the oe. wear soundfx is aluminumized steel and > somewhat generic..... > soundfx will get the exhaust quiet again cheap. but don't expect > more than two years before you have a hole in it..... www.preludepower.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-323342.htmlI don't know how accurate that is, but it sound like quiet-flow may be a good way to go. I hope you get it, as I'm eager to hear how you like it, as I might try the same thing.

yea the mufflers I had put on are to much like a muscle car. I will put them on my Charger as it needs a new exhaust. Hopefully next month.

I have an appointment Tuesday to have a complete dual exhaust fabricated for my '74 Monaco; They're preparing several muffler options for me based on where I want them mounted; I'll share my selection and a video of the car with an exhaust afterwards to get the sound across.

My '75 Gran Fury has stock '74 replacement dual exhaust (no cats), it has a nice rumble and is not overbearingly loud. Stock replacement 440 mufflers are perfect for these cars (if you have a 440 to make them rumble). If you want more noise Dynaflow welded oval mufflers (used to be called Race Magnums) sound good and aren't too loud, I have them (3") on my Fury with the 426 Hemi in it. It sounds great, really deep rumble but is quieter than my friend Doug's stock '69 Hemi Charger at idle. My friend also has them on his Christine clone with a built 440 (again 3") and they sound good. Best part is they flow better than any other street muffler I could find. Worth looking into. Adam

Any of you guys run a crossover pipe?
I have one on my Falcon small block, and it definitely balances out and mellows the rumble of those Flowmasters (pus adds a few horses)...I'm thinking about adding one to the Blumo.
