I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I'll drop it here, anyway. Last weekend, I went to O-Town (Orlando) to drop by the HOB for a meal, and hit the gift shop. After buying my usual amount of BB crap (mug, stickers, etc.), I went out on the front porch to study the window display, where they have a right rear Monaco Bluesmobile door as part of the dressing. While I was studying it, I noticed that all the interior and external hardware (hinges, inner panel) were removed; as I looked it over the best that I could (given it's standing upright behind glass, with merch hung all over it), I noticed in the inside jamb, written in white painted lettering, the words: "R. Sheild's Movie Cars". I began to wonder if this was just a counterfeit, imposter, generic Monaco door, or, by chance, it might be an actual rear door from an actual movie car? I tried to do some Googling on the name, but came up empty. I also tried to take some camera photos, but with the sun glare and the angle of the door, all I could get were blurry door pics, or of my hand reflected back as I tried to cup the phone lens. Crapola. Any idea who this might be, and if the door could be legit? Rob

I'm sure others can chime in and provide a lot more info on Rick, but I know he built a number of replica blumos for the HOB. He was responsible for building the car shown here bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cars&thread=1229&page=1 I have personally purchased some parts for my Blumo from Rick and have spoken with him on the phone, seems like a decent guy. So "Rick Shields Movie Cars" does build movie cars and replia cars but did not build the movie cars used in the movie Blues Brothers.

Thanks for the info, Ghost. I remember that door from: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=sightings&thread=139&post=3572where DentArthurDent posted this pic: and wrote: > I did find out that they [HoB Orlando] had a door in the front window, which the > manager explained it was from the movie - specifically the car > they drove through the mall. This is good to know; thanks for the updates. The search for the "Holy Grail" (or parts therefrom), goes on.... Rob
