Watching The Blues Brothers on blu-ray, There's nude pictures of women everywhere (mall, elwood's apt., murph's lounge) A small shrine to the Godfather (I think) in ms. torontino's house Right before the gas station blows up, in the crowd there is a guy in the front row flipping the camera off, and its hard to tell but either hes holding something or he has a hook hand I'm not sure if this goes in morphing Bluesmobile or not, when we see the back of the Bluesmobile when it's driving away from the Oldsmobiles, the driver side back corner looks like it's pretty torn up and the tail light might be hanging out. Another note, could the gas station Bluesmobile be the orphanage Bluesmobile? Both have a big dent over the driver side wheel, where I think all the others show it on the passenger side. And remember all the Chevys from the LSD chase? The monitor in the Police HQ (use of unnecessary violence) shows a few Caprices and at least one '78 Monaco, could they be part of that? (on that screen it always looked to me like they were driving in circles to make it look like more cars) I've read in a few places also that The Blues Brothers was the first film that James Avery (Uncle Phil - Fresh Prince) was in. Has anyone seen him? I think i first heard he was an extra in the Jailhouse rock scene, then i heard he was dancing in Ray's shake a tailfeather.

I've heard others confuse the photo on the wall with the Godfather as well. But, that is in fact "Mr.Tarantino", with a remembrance candle placed under the photo. In addition to the candle, the black shroud over the photo indicates that he has passed away.
* I'm also guessing that the palms on each side were from the previous Palm Sunday.

Watching The Blues Brothers on blu-ray, ... Right before the gas station blows up, in the crowd there is a guy in the front row flipping the camera off, and its hard to tell but either hes holding something or he has a hook hand This is the last frame: before this frame: I don't notice the flipping-off hook guy. Can you point him out, and I'll frame-by-frame through and see if I notice anything weird.

I found the flip off guy. Immediately after Jake hits Elwood in the shoulder, and he says... "Ow!", look in the lower left corner of the screen. I think he is just casually scratching his nose. You'll probably have to watch it in motion, because a still frame will probably look like he is flipping the bird. * But... It does look like his other hand is in fact prosthetic and made of metal. I think it is what is known as "D.W. Dorrance's split hook" (aka "Partial Hand Adapter") Very much like the one shown at the very bottom of this page: hosmer.com/products/hands/index.html

I remember years ago when Mr. T was on Conan and he said he was an extra in The Blues Brothers but we could never find any evidence of that. At least with James Avery it's right there at his IMDb page ... www.imdb.com/name/nm0043041/He shouldn't be too hard to spot, dude is 6' 5"

A buddy of mine who is reasonably knowlegeable about the Blues Brothers just told me that Mr. T's acting career started as an extra in the first movie. He claimed that it is also listed on his IMDB page. Anyone else confirm this?
I sometimes do "extra" work for a couple of TV shows that film locally (Wicked Attraction, FBI Criminal Pursuit, Happily Never After, etc.) and you wouldn't believe what we get away with since we're just in the background and no one can hear what we're really talking about. A guy discreetly flipping off the camera in a crowd scene sounds about right!

^ Heh, well sure enough it does say that at T's IMDb page ... www.imdb.com/name/nm0001558/Guy on street, lol. I'm sure that was added after the Conan bit. Here's what dixiesquare wrote about it at BBC almost 7 years ago ... www.bluesbrotherscentral.com/forum/topic/2300-mr-t-in-the-bb-movie/I suppose it's possible he was an extra on the street somewhere. Extras don't get their name in the credits and it's hardly an acting gig. Another rumor is that he was John's bodyguard while filming. But now with Blu-ray maybe a sharp eye could spot him on the street. I'd think it would be easier to spot James Avery dancing outside Ray's. Trivia can be so ... trivial, lol. Fun stuff, though.

Follow up on the "bird man".
I was looking a the "Spring Valley" stuff, for the other thread, and noticed that just after the explosion, they show the same guy doing the same thing... and he is clearly whistling with his fingers.
He cheers, then puts his pinky and index fingers to his mouth (forming the same hand gesture) and blows heavy air into them. Check it out, you'll see what I mean.
