www.nettivaraosa.com/kunnostettavat-ja-ei-rek-olevat-autot/14831567000 eur Seller says that this was the car they used both interior & exterior shots, lots of holes from camera mounts on the sides. + camera truck's towing beam included. "Drivetrain, fuel tank, "roll cage" & interior missing except door panels. + some other parts Story tells that 2 of the Challengers & 3 Chargers were brought to Sweden after filming, one Charger is at Umeå now and someone did an General Lee replica of the second one. This was supposed to be an 8 sec race car, that's why the rear end looks like that Original 383 car" And here's explanation for almost Finland en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%85land_Islands

I would love to have one of these cars; painted a dark metallic gray, and it's certainly an interesting project.

I love '69 Chargers, I was shopping for one when I decided I'd rather have an Amphicar. I've owned a '68 383 Charger, a '70 Charger 500, and a '71 Charger Super Bee 340, I figured I needed a '69 so I would have owned one of each of the four best years but their prices have gotten out of control and I figured if I'm going for that kind of money for a car it should be really unique and Chargers don't float. I know how you feel; I almost bought a '66, but, instead, purchased a DeLorean.
I've been curious about Amphicars, though, and wouldn't mind restoring one if I could find a VERY CHEAP basket-case project to fiddle with for the next 10 years.

How much would it cost to restore this car? $50,000 ? More? Probably not a lot of parts available in Finland. It's quite the chase scene. Even if Stuntman Mike turns into a complete cry-baby, lol. Zoe Bell and her combination of writhing and undulating on the hood of the Challenger ... nudge nudge wink wink say no more * Marked as sold

It depends on HOW you want to restore the car; as a driving tribute to its movie legacy, for example, would be zounds cheaper than to properly restore the car to its showroom glory.
For the sake of argument, it's debatable as to whether or not the restoration costs would exceed the cost of buying another car or if there'd even be anything left of the original car.

I've also decided over a decade ago that my 68-70 Charger will be dark gray, but not metallic. A bit darker than navy gray. At that time I was younger and dumb enough to believe that I could actually buy a car like that some day. But back to Death Proof theme, one of the Challengers "live" quite close to my home. It's parked often about a km from here, on my dog pissing route. I've read from the internet that it's one of the movie cars, don't know the truth but it sure looks like one with nice scratches.

I love the way they added sedan door frames to the Challenger in that movie so they'd have a place to tie the belts for the girl to hold onto. Anyone else ever notice that?

Look familiar? Don't show the dog, he might take a piss on the floor From this video ... I saw that purple Challenger(about 2:40) last summer when I was taking a tire for fixing. It stood on the front of the shop so I had something to look at while waiting the tire. That vid is from Helsinki cruising which happens on the first friday of every non winter month. Just realized that I haven't been there for 5 or 6 years. Seems that a 25km trip and difficult parking at Kauppatori are too much for me. I'm old. Checked the car too last night.
