Both sets of plates are showing SOLD. Winning bids are undisclosed but starting price was $50 for each auction. There's a link to ask the auctioneer a question, so I asked if there's any proof they were used in the movie and which scene. I'm anticipating a completely ambiguous response.

I emailed them to.. Asking what vehicle they were used on during the filming. Here is the response I got.
Hello:
This prop is part of the set decoration so we cannot pinpoint an exact scene. It will come with a letter of provenance upon your request.

That makes a LITTLE more sense... I could see putting those plates on a 1970 muscle car; a Detroit special, especially if you live in Michigan.
I'd bet that the sale of those plates had nothing to do with the alleged Blues Brothers connection.
