Cops could get a "K" code vin Monaco - which wouldn't be a brougham. I don't know if they could get the A38 option code on a Brougham. But it sure seems that they could get a brougham and just add the cop options to it (like my 74 Fury was a non-K-code, non-A38, cop car). I'm basing my guess on this 77 Gran Fury, high class cop car: > The fender tag shows roof reinforcement, spotlight reinforcement, and > rear sway bar. It sure looks like a cop car. > > Notice the "H" in the second character of the vin. So it's not a k-code, > but a "H"igh class model, the Fury III, equivalent to the Brougham on > the Monaco. Read more: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=cops&thread=964&page=1#ixzz2GrewTYhaI just thought I'd put this info here in an easy-to-find thread. Anybody know of a Brougham cop car? Or any rules on where A38 could be used?

My '78 Fury was an RH41U with the E86 Pursuit code, power windows, cloth seats, and god only knows what other codes (I wish I saved the trim tags when I junked it, I only remember it was a 3 tag car and one was the SPECIAL HANDLING CAR tag ). It was a marked NC trooper car prior. I had it when these were cheap beater cars, I think I paid $1,000 for it which was a lot for it (my white '84 Diplomat was a $200 car that replaced it).

According to the owner the emblem on the sail panel says "Brougham" and I have found a civilian Gran Fury Brougham on craigslist. I think the name wasn't Dodge only. Adam

I checked my Classic Vehicle Identifier, 1960-1989, and there was a Fury Brougham in 75-77 (but not 74). > And the 1974 Fury can be broken down to: > PL = Fury I > PM = Fury II / Fury Suburban > PH = Fury III / Fury Custom Suburban > PP = Fury Gran Coupe / Fury Gran Sedan / Fury Sport Suburban > PK = Fury Police > PT = Fury Taxi Read more: www.bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=details&thread=466&page=2#6110#ixzz2HQox8yCcIn 75 and 76, Plymouth Gran Fury Brougham was vin code PP, and in 77 it was vin code PH (when that nutty c-body / b-body renaming was going on).
