Sorry to see you are parting with it.
Lots of good stuff there. I know you don't want to part anything out, but I'd love to get a hold of some of that stuff!

There were no bids so if anyone wants to make an offer, Bluzman is a member here. Now I don't know if Bluz is actually entertaining offers but if you're interested, can't hurt to send him a message.

So all the missing pieces are included, just off to the side?

As you know, we refurbish these cars, paint them, fix them up, etc. I need to be able to make a profit after putting about 2 weeks of labor ($1500) plus materials, ($500) into it. Shipping will be about $1000+ It's going to need the seats recovered ($1000) And, who knows about the engine work? So I will have $4K-$5K+ into the car. This car would sell for about $10K-$12K when it is finished. The standard profit margin for a shop to cover overhead is usually 100%. Which means I would need to get the car for about $2K-$3K.
This is why you haven't sold it yet. You are selling a Monaco at "Bluesmobile" price. You could easily get what you wanted for it if you did the paint, graphics, interior, bumper, etc.
If you decide to sell it for much less, I am a buyer.

Did this ever sell? I might have a client interested in having me build him a Blumo, if you can come down on your price to make sense to me, I might be a buyer.

You do realise this is a nearly rust free 1974! monaco sedan? Not a royal/hardtop/fury/2 door, With all the goodies already for it?
I'm a cheap basterd myself, but get real dude.
This thread is also from february. The car is probably lone gone, and he hasn't been back. Hell he can/prolly has sold it to someone over seas who would gladly pay this price for a clean car.

I'm actually with Bob on this one. I understand that rust free is hard to come by, but I got one for around 3,200, and it was all put together and running. It's not a true police car and even though everything comes with the car, if you're not local you still need to figure out how to get everything to you. My jaw dropped a bt when I saw that Buy It now of 13,000. I understand supporting people in the hobby but I can't see this car realistically going for more than 3,000-4,000 dollars, IMHO... Just look at the prices of other ones we post for sale that are complete that actually sell for their asking price, and add in the goodies that would come with this one...

I'm not saying this car is worth the $13k price tag. However I am saying it is deff worth more then $2-3k. Its not even my car, and I was insulted by his offer.
Legendary- Your car is a royal, no? Also had to get a hardtop '74 for the front end? Still not a '74. Plus its a small block. This one has a 440 to go with it. And yes, Iv'e been watching the for sale section. A bunch of royals, 2 doors, hardtops, and furys, and a handfull of actual '74 sedans.

Indeed, an offer like that is insulting for this car. The fact that it's a '74 automatically puts it at $3,5000.00. That it's rust-free; a rarity for these cars instantly adds at least $1,500.00. The fact that the interior is tan adds about a $500.00 touch to the car, since some work is still needed. The 440 and many extra parts, including hard-to-find cop components add $1,500.00 to the value. I'd say that the car is worth, with everything included, somewhere around $7,000.00 in its current state; double that at a minimum after the work is completed.
The price does, in fact, "make sense" and reflects the rarity of a '74 Monaco.

I'm not trying to offend anyone. I guess what I was trying to get across is that the car is only worth that much to someone wanting to build a bluesmobile. Anywhere else on the web but here and no one would give this car a second look if they just wanted a cool older car. For instance, post this over at forcbodiesonly or cbodydrydock and everyone would tell you you're crazy. I suppose that's what I was trying to convey originally.

You have a valid point, though, the thing that will always determine the value is the ratio of people who want a Bluesmobile to the number of Monacos out there. Case in point, there's this car that sold for $4,500.00 that wasn't a '74 and was rusting away: bluesmobiles.proboards.com/thread/1647/sold-1976-monaco-bluesmobile-illinoisIt was a 360-powered car, too. To say that this car is worth less than that one is crazy by all accounts and is a good indicator of the fact that the general public supports this. You can, indeed, buy them for a lot cheaper if they're not a '74, but for the correct year and a title that goes with it, there's a premium price that you'll have to pay. There are also those that will NOT buy a completed Bluesmobile because they want the experience of building their own car.
