Hi Everyone,
I'm wondering if anyone would be willing to display their Bluesmobile for the evening on 2/25/2012 in Monroe, Michigan for a good cause. I may post in another part of the forum to introduce myself, but I thought this would be the best place to make a special request. My wife and I are big Blues Brothers fans and, being Cath-o-lics, our kids attend school at St. Michael in Monroe, Michigan. This year my wife is the chairperson of the committee for the school's annual main fundraising event, a charity auction which usually has a theme of some kind (usually a movie). As she thought of a theme for this year's auction, I brought up the Vatican's endorsement of The Blues Brothers (something we both thought was great when I heard the news on, you guessed it, Blues Brothers Central). To make a long story a bit shorter, the theme of the auction is, "We're On A Mission From God."
I'm thinking that having a Bluesmobile replica parked at the entrance of the event (or even outside the chuch and school the day before?) would create a lot of buzz, plus perhaps we could charge a small fee for those who want to have their photo taken with or even in the car (if the car owner would give us permission, of course).
In closing, let me say I covet your replicas - I've promised myself I'll have one someday - and I thank you for your consideration!

Thanks for the replies, John and Chris. I understand, believe me. I have hobby cars too, and mine don't leave the garage when there's snow on the ground. Maybe there's somebody here who trailers their car who would consider coming (?).
Kind regards, Gains

DUPLICATE POST in case not everyone reads the "Introductions" board... Hi Gains. Love that flyer . I merged your post from the intro forum to the general board here. You'll get more attention over here. Like people have mentioned, and you acknowledged, the time of year and the Michigan weather will be a problem. Your mission, being charity related, is formidable, but it sounds like any Blumo owner who could help you out would be doing so at their own expense (i.e. trailering). It's a tall order but I wish you luck. The Lord works in mysterious ways.

Thanks, Steam. The auction committee does have some seed money, so if anyone can help us I think we could discuss reimbursing them for gas (or diesel), plus of course they would be welcome for dinner at the auction.

To bad I did not see this in time. I have a 91 Ford Crown Vic for sale. Used only once in a run for Sheriff in Ionia. I went to reform school (St. Peter and Paul Academy). It is for sale. I like your theme. Hope you had a good time. It looked like it was fun. curtread@hotmail.com
