Guys, I thought you would appreciate this video more than just about anyone. The first coughs of life from the 440 that was the Arco Blumo sitting in a field in Idaho a month ago. Below are some pics from last night (6/13/12) of the car after paint, brakes, wheels and tires waiting for engine install. We have new seats ready to go in with new vinyl flooring. Pretty cool huh! Thanks again for everyone on this board's help and encouragement. This car will make a lot of people smile in the Southern California area for decades to come. (Engine in clean room with old/temp belts on for looks)

Wow, that's the fastest resto I've seen this side of Overhaulin'. Just a little nitpick: The blumo has white window frames, black frames are CHP, unless that was part of the plan to give a tip of the fedora to the local constabulary.

Hi Fox: Looking good! I'm thinking that your frame has pushbar holes like the following: Could you take a pic whenever you have it up on a lift sometime? And measure the distances between the holes? That would help with our CHP pushbar analysis. Have you thought about if you're going to install a spotlight (or what installation kit to use)? I believe your car originally came with 2 spotlights from the factory. In 1975, the factory stamped the exterior a-pillar chrome for the spotlight hole, like this: and used an exterior spotlight mount like this: Those factory exterior mounts are impossible to find, and most blumo replicas don't have the factory stamped chrome anyway, so most folks use an exterior Unity 216 bracket, that looks like this: The Unity 216 mount is readily available today, and has cop-car street-cred as it was used on 1974 CHP units (and any Monaco that didn't get spotlights installed at the factory). The 216 is designed for use with a NON-stamped exterior a-pillar trim (the kit installation has the user drilling through the chrome). If you use your factory exterior chrome with a 216, the factory hole may extend beyond the edge of the 216 mount (I don't know). Regardless of the driver side, the blumo didn't have a passenger side spotlight, so you may want a non-hole chrome a-pillar piece for that side. your friend in blumos coming alive! /arthur

Thanks for the heads up!

We'll be working on car this weekend. Looks like we have the factory holes in the a-pillar and we got a spotlight from 76bluesmobile. A Unity S-6 Model. It will need a mount. Calliing Unity this morning. Thanks for the help!

Can anybody put up a shot of the markings on the trunk lid? We gotta help Fox get 'em right.

We re-painted trunk around it to save...I know die-hards might cringe but we thought it was a neat touch. Hope you all understand! Todd

A little video we made with the Fox Blumo's first drive under it's own 440 power! Awesome!! We looked at pictures of that car for years ... thinking what a shame that car is being neglected, and now, to see it running ... it's beautiful.

This is pretty cool. Below are photos of a sign, that will travel with the car, listing the sponsors that contributed to bringing this Bluesmobile to life: Thanks foxfull. Very cool of you. .
