With the recent discussion on the board about the Julien's auction, I can add some information. Prior to the auction, I was contacted by a fan of the movie to see if I would be interested in acting as his research/purchasing agent at the auction. I said "Beverly Hills - that's just up the road from Laguna Beach!", and he ended up sponsoring my trip to the auction and Laguna Beach. Holy crap Arthur! That is Awesome. It's amazing to think that thru this process of building a car, you have become one of the foremost experts on this movie. In most cases knowing more of the details than people who were in the movie! I feel honored to be "along for the ride" so to speak.

Compared to the adventures, the car now really is a secondary piece of the fun. But I never would have had the adventures - without working on the blumo build. And I never would have tried the blumo build - without everyone on the board. So it all fits together. Yeay to the board!

Ever have your expansion-band watch slide around your wrist? Elwood has:
because of the continuity in those two shots, I'm guessing it was Dan who sprayed the flame, unlike the horn-honk stunt-double Elwood arm.
It looks like analog watches are blues approved:
as well as being a grey-hair
Twist it!

So the fan was someone who saw your research on our forums? Yes - it was a fan who I didn't previously know, who was impressed with our board and our in-depth research, and gave me a shout. Here's my 1 second of fame: I knew all that time watching the movie frame-by-frame would pay off! your friend in research, and research related benefits, arthur

I knew all that time watching the movie frame-by-frame would pay off! I think you were the only one to know that.
