Rob, keep any eye out at the local junk yards.
I lost one of mine when redoing the front end, but found one at A1A off of 103rd. It came out of a 77 B body fury. Was the same as the 75 on ours.
They did not have any others though.. I went through the yard real good, but only other car they had was a 74 coroner, and it was a picked over carcass.. Nothing left, except a busted out windshield lol. I'll keep an eye out.

I think these rollers might be the same as the trunk sliders. Put Mopar trunk sliders in as a search on Ebay and check them out. There seems to be two sizes one for A,B,C bodies and one for E bodies. This might be an option.

I think you may be right, blusmbl...if that plastic is tough enough to withstand the pressure of the hood closing on the torsion bars, they just might work. I know they are made for trunk lids, I'm just not sure about how much pressure those rear t-bars exert, compared to the hood versions. Heck, for 10 to 25 bucks a pair, it's worth a shot; I'll look at the ones on my own trunk lid tonight, for a comparison. Rob

Heck, for 10 to 25 bucks a pair, it's worth a shot Ghost; you need to trade that high-tech internet-on-your-hip smartphone for a 40 year old parts catalog. It looks you can get hood rollers here: www.collectorsautosupply.com/query.asp?section=BODY&year=0&make=Mopar+A+Body1974-78 P,D,C,Y HOOD HINGE TORSION BAR ROLLER 3788198 NOS $9 and that they're different (at least a different part number) from the trunk sliders:

Art....you're awesome, bro! I'm throwing my smartassphone right out of the window! ;D I'm going to look through the product list to see if there's anything else I can use, as shipping starts at 10 bucks...might as well get my money's worth! Rob

I'm going to look through the product list to see if there's anything else I can use, as shipping starts at 10 bucks...might as well get my money's worth! That's a good idea. I've determined that this outfit does NOT have any of the parts listed (or at least not any that I've needed). They are a distributor of some sort where everything listed is spread out across the USA and Canada, and they just have a master list. One time I wanted a pic of something to verify it was correct, and it was basically impossible to get (because the part was at some guys barn somewhere, who listed the part number with them, and the guy didn't have a digital camera). Eventually I was able to ask enough questions that the guy could answer (using collectorsautosupply as an intermediary for every response), that I could determine the part was what I wanted. So the gist is, if you found (4) different parts, and each was at a different location, I don't know what shipping you'd be charged. My guess is that they don't want to explain about how the parts are distributed everywhere, and it's easier for them to have that minimum shipping fee which helps cover their costs when orders are distributed across many suppliers, and you'll get a better deal buy buying many items at once.

After a little more research, I found these: PART NO DESCRIPTION YEAR QUANTITY PRICE 3788198 HOOD HINGE TORSION BAR ROLLER 1974-78 P,D,C,Y 14 3.00 ARIZONA PARTS 320 E PEBBLE BEACH DR. TEMPE, AZ. 85282 (480) 966-6683 www.arizonaparts.com His shipping is also 12 bucks, unless the parts fit in a SASE. But I do like his cheeky website notice: WANT A PICTURE OF THE PART? NO PROBLEM. JUST COME ON OUT HERE AND BRING YOUR CAMERA AND TRIPOD AND YOU CAN TAKE LOTS OF PICTURES OF THE PART. AND WHILE YOU ARE AT IT YOU CAN TAKE PICTURES OF THE OTHER 39,000 DIFFERENT PARTS I STOCK SO THAT OTHERS CAN ENJOY THEM TOO. I DON'T HAVE THE TIME OR THE ENERGY TO DO THAT BUT SINCE EVERYONE WANTS A PICTURE OF THE PART (EVEN THOUGH ONE WOULD THINK THEY KNOW WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE) THEN HAVE AT IT.
------- Len Dawson at Deception Pass Motor parts (15541 Yokeko Drive, Anacortes, WA 98221 has them, too, and his shipping is 10 bucks. ------ Plus, a bunch of other NOS dealers have them, too: moparforums.com/forums/f13/some-nos-gently-used-part-suppliers-9000/It looks like 10 to 12 bucks is the standard shipping fee, no matter where you get 'em....so, I think I'll try Arizona, because if I send him a padded SASE envelope, I can beat that 10 buck shipping fee! ;D Rob

I ripped of an email to Martin at Arizona, letting him know what a cheap bastard I am...I'll let you know if he bites on the SASE deal. Rob hehehe, I've bought some stuff from Martin, with good results. Funny guy; I was working on various part numbers for my external-shunt wiring plan, and how the ones in the parts catalog didn't match what we expected, and he got off on a funny rant about Mopar part numbers. Something like his writeup about pictures you post above. He wanted a money-order shipped first, and the parts came through fine. I didn't notice the SASE shipping deal, but that's a pretty good offer! Saves him the trouble of calculating shipping, also.

You might want to double-check the application, before you order from Martin at Arizona Parts; I ordered part number 3788198 from his website, which lists the rollers for 1974-78 P,D,C,& Y bodies, but when they arrived, they turned out to be round steel rollers...and my stock ones are square plastic/nylon. I haven't had time to contact him about it yet, but I'm not sure why they would be listed for my car, and then tun out to be steel and round, unless it's a direct replacement. Rob Above from: www.bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=gotopost&board=owners&thread=83&post=9677The original post of this thread shows that 74 had roller, and 75+ had plastic slider. Earlier, I showed the parts catalog page for 75, showing the 75 part number was 3788198. I just checked the 74 catalog, and it also shows 3788198: So I guess metal rollers and plastic sliders are all the same part number 3788198, and all are considered replaceable on any year car. Maybe all replacement parts in packets of 3788198 are metal rollers? Or maybe some are plastic sliders, and you have to check with the seller to see exactly what kind they are. It looks like Brad's has them for $4: www.bradsnosparts.com/inventory/partDetails.asp?pid=15076415&page=82&startNumb=2808402&psize=&orderby=1&dirct=AI found if I google search for "mopar 3788198 hood roller", the number one page is this thread. Go blumos!
