That '77 Royal (above) is the one I saw at the Syracuse Nationals car show in 2010. I posted a couple of photos of it in the Sightings thread on BBC. Yesterday Steam posted this photo ... According to my records, that '74 Custom sold on eBay on Jan. 1, 2008, for $4,000 (the photo is from the listing).

This one I'm sure is Axl's although I'm not 100% certain if he's still the owner. - flic.kr/p/adWtGM--- This one ... at the moment I'm not sure. I don't want to guess and piss someone off . www.flickr.com/photos/lukeroberts/4517070340/Ahhh ok, there's a huge resolution picture at the flickr link and I can see a NSW on the plate. I guess New South Wales, Australia. I think TK may have posted this one here already.?

I know that as of Jan 1st 2012, the first car is in fact still owned by Axl.
I did, at one time, post the second car and it is the NSW BluMo.
* Also, like few other unscrupulous owners, it is promoted as an original screen used car.

Strangely familiar... Who's car is this? Taken 6 days ago in Social Circle, GA (2-18-2012) What's the phrase?...
"Imitation is the best form of flattery"?* [Comparison photos were posted in this spot, but the mystery has been solved ]

Alright, alright you got me, I'll play. This Blumo is mine. I knew it was a matter of time before you found a picture of it. I don't even have finished pictures of it yet. I was at this small cruise in putting some break in miles on the engine. Those stencils look like yours because they are yours. They are awesome! I bought them from you over on the BBC website along with the Ray's bumper sticker and the 8 track tape. Three plus years of lurking both boards ends today...... I will post an introduction thread and a restoration thread, I'll print up showbills and make the threads look real nice, I don't think they'll get post one, but if they do I want a taste of the gate. OK?

Holly cow, look who it is. Hey blusmbl !
Super cool to see you joining up. I must say, Jeff/ blusmbl is in fact a pleasure to talk to and deal with.
I had thought someone must have been studying my Photobucket account, and at the same time, must have read that I thought the numbers on my car were a little too tall and how I had to draw new, slightly shorter, stencils for them to be more accurate, if others were to use them.
Cool to see that it is you.
You have one fine car there. Really nice. (Seeing the other photos from the show, the engine looks like it just came off the assembly line)
I'm stoked that we are finally getting to see it.
Welcome aboard.
edit: Looking at yours is making it harder for me to resist finally sanding down my numbers. The plan was to leave them for any possible future owner (allowing them to make it more their own), but it might be time to break out the paper.

Sad to report the HoB Bluesmobile is back to the backlot, likely rotting in the elements. Apparently, Di$ney hates it and refuses to allow it out too long - but they bring it out for special [paid] events. I did find out that they had a door in the front window, which the manager explained it was from the movie - specifically the car they drove through the mall. The markings don't look the part (imo too clean) from the screen grabs... but maybe. The door-jamb said, "Star Cars - Blues Mobile" I tried to snap some photos, but the tint on the window made it too difficult to get a picture of. I'm going to pull some favors and try to get a 1 on 1 with the car some time in the near future. I did get a couple of nice shots of the USF Bluesmobile today. For some reason, I didn't get any of the front... I dig the new speaker. It actually works, apparently. At least, somewhere on there they have a front mounted speaker, cos it's deafening if you're on the oncoming side of it lol. Seems they've dropped the PA mic since a month ago. Bummer! Love that swag. I will say this: The car has A/C. And it's awesome A/C lol. It also sounded like it was running really, really rough today.

The P1 font, on the door shown in the window, is strikingly familiar (if not identical) to what was used by R.Shields. If I were to bet, I'd say it came off of the car inside the park, and is connected to the same reason that the door graphics were changed on that car, in 2007. (replaced doors?)
USF in fact has 3 cars within the park and the fury above seems to be in the best shape of all of them.
All of the USF cars do have a front mounted speaker.

Cool report, DaD. Thanks for that. Here's a bit of a look at the front of that Plymouth Blumo. - - As for the door ... we've certainly come across claims of cars pretending to be from the movie but I don't recall a door ever holding that claim, lol. I agree with TK that it looks like a Rick Shields door. I really don't think it's from the movie. The font, the "P" just doesn't look right. - Maybe a better screencap would be useful. It's kind of a crazy claim.

I agree with TK that it looks like a Rick Shields door. I really don't think it's from the movie...It's kind of a crazy claim. Even the claim "specifically the car they drove through the mall." rubs me the wrong way. There were blumos in the mall for stunt drivers, and blumos in the mall for Dan & John, so saying "the car" is all out whack. It seems to me that all exterior shots showing Dan & John (shots with camera not mounted on car), are all of the following car: Note wiggly antenna and white spotlight handle endcap. Shots of Dan & John with camera mounted on car don't have a spotlight endcap: Notice the white roof markings in that first shot. They differ from this car, taken right after the stunt guys crash into the drum set: It'd be cool to know of just one thing we could validate from the movie. Even the certificate of authenticity from Dan regarding the model blumo doesn't ring true (the model car has a driver side door mirror, while the movie flip car doesn't). bluesmobiles.proboards.com/index.cgi?action=display&board=information&thread=439&page=1your friend in hunting down rumors of original car pieces, arthur
